February is the month of love and in the horse industry, that means it's
breeding season. Many mare owners are playing matchmaker and searching
for the perfect cross to raise the next World Champion. On the cover of the Stallion Issue of GoMag this month is The Rock and he just may be your ticket
to the winner's circle.
The Arizona Sun Circuit is a favorite horse show for many people and
GoHorseShow.com is there to capture great candids from the circuit's
events. The show comes at a time of the year when most people are just
glad to be in Scottsdale, Arizona...even if the weather isn't perfect. The show runs
through February 1st with huge classes, clinics, entertainment,
exhibitor parties, and a shopping expo.
Breeder Bill Rosenfeldt remembers the day that the special colt, who would eventually be known as These Irons Are Hot,
was born. "He was born in a paddock outside. When I went to lead him
in, I was taken aback because as big as the colt was, he loped beside
the mare all the way in," said Rosenfeldt. "As a
yearling, he was always easy going. He was never colty or arrogant. He
was left uncut for that reason, as well as his size and big slow
stride."
For most people, the name, "The Rock" conjures up visions of the muscled movie star and professional wrestler, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. But in today's horse world, The Rock is quickly making a name for himself as a striking red roan stallion with a very bright future. By the multiple World Champion producing stallion, RL Best of Sudden, and out of Lopen Good Bar, The Rock was bred to be special.
Always a crowd favorite, Lazy Loper was loved by many trainers and spectators when he showed as a two, three, and four year-old in western pleasure classes. Many remember fondly when the gorgeous bay came into the pen with his flashy blaze and huge thick forelock. Lazy immediately demanded attention with his looks, mind and movement. The 2005 AQHA World Champion and two-time Reserve Congress Champion clearly has passed on his traits to many of his offspring.
Ring in the New Year with the January 2015 issue of GoMag. A very heartfelt thanks to our many loyal
readers and advertisers who continue to prove that there is no better
way to be seen by more people for less money than by advertising in
GoMag. On behalf of everyone at GoHorseShow, we wish you a very happy, healthy and successful 2015.
If you want to describe a "horse of a different color" in every respect, Living Large, a 2009 AQHA/APHA Sorrel Overo stallion, owned by Cathy Corrigan Frank of Arizona, fits the bill. When you look at this gorgeous and loud colored stallion, one would immediately assume he was a paint. But, when he trots into an AQHA class, you realize there's definitely more to the story.
The highly popular Florida Gold and Gulf Coast Quarter Horse Show just wrapped up at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, Florida. "Overall the horse show had great weather with only one rainy day!" says Morgan Parisek, who won the Amateur All-Around at the show. "Everything ran smoothly with sunshine and palm trees. The prizes were awesome with lots to choose from such as sweat shirts, polos, and Wahna Win coat conditioner."
