2015 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show will feature fun activities for exhibitors throughout the show July 31 – August 8 in Oklahoma City. Whether attendees want to slide across the arena or the dance floor, there will be something fun for everyone.
“AQHA youth are the future of the Association, and we want to make these events and contests both fun and educational,” said Kate Vierthaler, AQHA manager of educational programs. “We are investing our time in our youth and will continue to push them to become the best they can be for not only for AQHA, but also in their life outside of the arena.”

Attendees may compete in one of the various contests held outside the arena throughout the show. The Merial AQHA Horse Judging Contest, Horse Bowl and speech contests are just some of the contests offered. All youth are invited to attend the fashion show and pin exchange, followed by a dance August 4 in the sales pavilion. Throughout the show, Ford Youth World teams will also be competing for points in a team-spirit contest.
The 2015 youth teams will all be recognized August 2 during the Parade of Teams in the Jim Norick Arena. The 2014 AQHYA year-end high-point winners will also be recognized during the Parade of Teams. This allows for all the youth teams and youth high-point winners to be honored in front of their peers, friends and family for their great accomplishments.
A select few will have the chance to perform specified maneuvers to music in the freestyle exhibitions on August 6, following the last class in the Jim Norick Arena.
Again this year, AQHA Professional Horsemen will teach free Nutrena Ride the Rail/Ride the Pattern clinics. These free clinics give exhibitors and spectators the perfect opportunity to learn how AQHA Professional Horsemen would approach a class or pattern.
Other events include a Church Service at 9 a.m. on August 2, the Paws Cause dog adoption at 11 a.m. on August 2, and a college fair from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on August 3- 4, all in the sales pavilion.
