We are pleased to have Blair and Kristin Kern of Northwind Ranch on the cover of the March issue of GoMag. 2008 was a truly blessed year for the Kern girls and Northwind Ranch. The culmination came as both sisters won classes simultaneously at the Congress. Kristin and her great mare, Zizzles Hot Impulse, won the 13/under Novice Youth pleasure and were reserve in the 11/under pleasure at the Congress. Blair and Big N Rich came home with winning the NonPro Maturity and Ltd. Open Maturity Pleasure at the Congress, and then capped off the year winning the World Championship title in Amateur Western Pleasure. “I am so grateful to God, Big N Rich, the opportunity to ride such a great horse, and the many individuals who helped make my dreams come true,” says Blair.
We are very excited about the start of ‘09 with our first “The Immortal” foal crop arriving. They are deep hocked, flat kneed, baby doll headed, and big bodied. Our trainer, Lori Ison, is busy in the show barn and Jeff Ison is also keeping busy with the breeding and foaling. They are such a great asset to Northwind Ranch, and we are very lucky to have them both. Stop by the ranch when visiting Pilot Point, we love to have company.
