Contrary to popular belief, The Home Run Kid is continuing to stand the 2013 season at Gumz Farms. Recent rumors were circulating that the very popular stallion, The Home Run Kid, was sold and was to be moved to another facility to stand the 2013 season. Owners, Horn and Jefcoat, were very flattered to have received a very lucrative offer on their stallion, but, in the end, they did not sell the stallion and retain full ownership of the horse.
“This rumor has caused some confusion with many mare owners and we wanted to confirm our commitment and stability of The Home Run Kid,” says, partner, Monte Horn.
This young sire is one of the few great stallions participating in the Amateur Breeders Futurity program as well as the Breeders Open, WCHA, Congress Halter Futurity, Go For The Gold, Michigan and Iowa Breeders Futurity.
“We are quite happy with the breeding inquiries on The Home Run Kid and is very excited about the high caliber mares already booked to him,” says Amy Gumz of Gumz Farms. “However, we certainly did not want this rumor to deter any breeders from considering him in the 2013 season.”
