The Oklahoma Spring Quarter Horse Show was held this past weekend in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the Oklahoma City State Fairgrounds. There was five full shows in four days that were AQHA and OQHA approved. The judges for the show were Mike Hawkins, Brad Jewett, Gretchen Mathes, Chris Jones, Jeff Allen, Holly Hover, Kent Martin, Morgan Lybbert, Gary Putman, David Warner, Sarah Good, Terry Beck and Robert Tweedlie.
According to several reports, the show was a bit smaller this year because it ran during Easter, but the weather was great, and, despite the holiday, the show definitely didn’t lack in competition.
“The all-day fee was much appreciated,” says AQHA judge, Tina Anderson, whose daughter Bailey Anderson, won the circuits in the performance halter geldings and horsemanship. “Our barn took home several circuit awards. If you can’t spend Easter with your immediate family, might as well spend it with your horse show family!”
OQHA had an Easter egg hunt for the kids and it was a great time and lots of points for many exhibitors and horses.
