The Riders Cup is designed to pay 20 percent of the earnings to the designated trainer and 80 percent to the horse owner. Five trainers earned more than $5,000 of the $27,000 awarded on Sunday, and over the two days, the trainers earned nearly $10,000 with their 20 percent stake in their clients’ placings.
Four trainers split more than $4,000 of a total payout of just over $20,600 during the first day of the National Snaffle Bit Association’s inaugural Riders Cup horse show at Roberts Arena in Wilmington, Ohio. The show, being held October 4-5, is designed to present 20 percent of class earnings to the designated trainer with the entry.
