Star Mountain Paint Horse Announces the Purchase of I Got Em Talkin

Laura and Kris Rogers of Star Mountain Paint Horses are proud to announce the purchase of 24-time Champion and 6-time World Show Highpoint/All-Around winning stallion I Got Em Talkin, aka Buzz.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better family for Buzz to be joining than Laura, Kris, and their children,” said former owner Dominic DeStefano. “Laura has always been a huge supporter of Buzz and close friend of mine.” Star Mountain Paint Horses produces some of the highest quality futurity prospects each year, evident by Laura’s remarkable success in the longe line.

Laura commented, “When the opportunity came to purchase Buzz, I was so excited and honored. I have always loved Buzz and what he produced for me. I am looking forward to welcoming him to our family. Being able to stand him at our ranch here in Arizona and continue breeding him to our broodmares is a dream come true. We are excited to see the continued success of his foals in our breeding program and looking forward to being able to show such a talented horse! His gentle, sweet nature is just one of the many qualities I hope to pass on to his foals. Christi Christensen and Highpoint Performance Horses, thank you for all you have done for Buzz and the exceptional care the past years.”

“Christi Christensen and the entire Highpoint team have provided Buzz with the highest quality care and service fulfilling breeding contracts these last few years,” Dominic added. “Especially while I was away on deployment. While I am sad to see the reins change hands, I know Laura and Kris (pictured right) are going to continue his legacy of success, both in the breeding shed and show pen.”

Christi was not only Buzz’s breeding manager at Highpoint Performance Horses, but she also shared in his many showing successes as well. The pair earned multiple world titles during the 2016 show season, including the 2016 APHA World Show Highpoint All-Around Novice Amateur title. “As excited as I am for the Rogers family and Buzz to unite, I am going to miss that sweet boy,” said Christi. “He has been such a gentleman as a breeding stallion and then a part of our horse show family. He is so great minded and easy about everything. I know they will love him as much as we do.”

Laura concluded, “I want to thank my husband, Kris, for always being so supportive and always being by my side!”

Buzz will begin standing at their ranch in Arizona for the 2021 breeding season with an introductory stud fee of $800. All previous Highpoint contracts will be honored.
