Kimes Kandids and Rundown from EMO Western States Championship & Celebration Vegas

EMO Western States Championship and The Celebration with 10 AQHA shows is currently underway through July 8th at South Point Equestrian Center, Las Vegas, Nevada. For 2018, an estimated $10,000 was paid to the winners of the championship classes in addition to the Gold, Silver and Bronze trophies.

“The weather in Las Vegas in July is typically sweltering, and this week has not disappointed,” Amateur Kimberly Guenther told us. “We have had triple digits all week long, with Friday being the hottest at 112 degrees. But, in the cool of the South Point Equestrian Center, we have been comfortable and enjoying great competition. In particular, the youth classes have had high numbers and the Senior Trail had over 70 entries.

Early on in the circuit, they held the EMO Western States Championship classes, which award beautiful ribbons, top three trophies and jackpot money. The reining, cattle and ranch riding events wrapped up during the first half of the week and engraved silver champagne coolers were presented to the champions.

“Despite a packed schedule, we were done showing on July 4th in time to grab dinner and watch the fireworks light up the Vegas horizon from the comfort of our hotel room,” Guenther adds.
