NSBA Youth Win Big at the AQHYA World Show

NSBA Youth members had a huge showing at the 2014 Built Ford Tough American Quarter Horse Youth Association’s World Championship Show, held this week in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Two young ladies earned back-to-back world championships in their events, having earned world champion titles in 2013 in their respective classes. Katerina Mendel showed Willys On The Green (shown at left) to his second world champion title and the NSBA bronze in Hunter Under Saddle, besting 117 entries, while Hillary Roberts successfully defended her world title and won the NSBA trophy in Western Pleasure aboard Whatscookngoodlookin in a class of 91 competitors.

“It was really amazing to win the world again,” said Katerina Mendel. “This is my fifth time to show at the Youth World, and it’s also my last year of youth. I just wanted to relax and have fun, so that’s what we did.”
