GoHorseShow Wishes Troy Oakley a Speedy Recovery

GoHorseShow would like to wish horse trainer, Troy Oakley, a speedy recovery from his horse riding accident where he broke his leg in two places.

Oakley says that he will be out of commission between nine to twelve weeks and that the doctors put several plates, screws, and pins in his leg to help it heal. He is now wearing a temporary cast and he will be visiting the orthopedic doctor on Monday for him to determine what type of cast he needs to recover.

“It was a complete freak accident,” Oakley says. “I was trotting a circle and the horse I was riding stumbled, fell and pinned my foot in the stirrup. It could have happened to anybody, but I’m thankful I will be okay.”

Oakley adds, “The horses are being taken care of, and I will be back in the saddle soon. This accident wasn’t life-threatening, and I would like to extend my prayers to Banks Ready and Dr. McCarroll’s family who are going through some difficult times and need a lot more prayers than I do. A few years ago–I had a aneurysm and I wasn’t sure whether I would make it–but I’m thankful to still be here. I would also like to thank all the people who have sent their well wishes my way.”

Troy also wanted everyone to know that his new phone number is (940) 230-5142. His other phone was damaged due to the accident, and he lost all of his contacts.
