GoHorseShow is saddened to report that multiple World and Congress Champion halter sire, MH Supremo, has passed away. It was confirmed by resident trainer, Dewey Smith, of Prince Farms, LLC that the Reserve World Champion was recently put to rest.
“He was a great stallion with an amazing attitude and was really easy to be around,” Smith told GoHorseShow. “We are really sad that he passed away, but we are fortunate to have two amazing sons of the sire, Chromed Up and PF Credibley Supreme, that will help continue his legacy.”
The 1998 sorrel stallion by Obvious Conclusion and out of Whisper of Flowers was owned by Chester and Anne Prince of Palmetto, Florida. He was bred by Mata Hamlin Quarter Horses of Ocala, Florida. His yearling son, PF Credibley Supreme, recently made history at the 2011 All American Quarter Horse Congress when he was awarded Grand Champion Stallion, a rare achievement for a yearling–as well as going on to win the 2011 AQHA World Championship in the Yearling Stallions. MH Supremo also sired the 2010 World Champion Yearling Stallion, Hes So That making it back-to-back world championships in the yearling stallions for this sire.
“He was really starting to prove himself as a breeding stallion, so it is unfortunate he is no longer with us, but he has another foal crop coming this year. I’m getting ready to start showing some of his yearlings that are unbelievable,” Smith says. “We are really sad we lost him but we just have to move forward and hopefully his offspring will continue to make his father proud.”
His Get of Sire Summary as of December 2011, states that MH Supremo has 195 registered foals with 61 being performers. His offspring has received 2,742 points earned in all divisions combined; Incentive Fund earnings of $43,418.32; and AQHA World Show earnings of $41,878.18. He has also sired eight World Champions and ten Reserve World Championships in the halter events.
GoHorseShow would like to express our condolences to the Prince family on the loss of their great stallion.
