The Arizona Quarter Horse Association has an immediate opening for the position of Sun Country Circuit Coordinator. This is a full-time position and will report to the Chair person of the Sun Country Oversight Committee.
The ideal candidate must have good oral and written communications skills, the ability to speak in public, meet with the public, including elected and non-elected government officials and have good negotiation skills. Must be able to work harmoniously with other staff, board members, vendors, customers, AQHA, etc. Must have basic computer and office equipment skills, be honest and trustworthy, have the ability to budget and basic financial literacy and the ability to manage and supervise others. Needs horse show management experience and possess broad horse industry knowledge and experience. Resident of Maricopa County (Arizona) a strong plus.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare the horse show budget
- Solicit bids for Show Manager and/or Show Secretary
- Recommend the show schedule
- Negotiate the contracts for all third party services for the horse show such as show photographer
- Oversee all advertising and promotion including the production of the premium book
- Coordinate selection of show judges
- Handle all details relating to vendors and sponsors
- Maintain a relationship with the staff at West World
- Recommend awards to be given
Compensation is based on experience and capabilities. This may be an employee or independent contractor position.
