GoHorseShow is excited to report the breaking news that Sandra Morgan, the owner of the late, Good I Will Be, has purchased Congress Reserve Champion stallion, Mechanic from Johnny, Shane and Holt Pope. The gorgeous 2010 sorrel stallion by A Good Machine and out of Zippin Thru Town will continue his show career in the english and western events as well as stand to the public at Stephen Stephens’ Dry River Ranch in 2014.
Stephens says that Mechanic made a strong first impression on him. “I first saw Mechanic when Shane Pope was stalled next to us at the AQHA World Show. I told Sandra at the time that he was Good I Will Be’s competition, and, after Willy’s passing, it is now not surprising that we ended up buying him.”
New owner, Sandra Morgan told GoHorseShow that she first set eyes on Mechanic at the 2012 Reichert in the Two Year-Old Western Pleasure Challenge. “He is so striking with a gorgeous head and neck. Being Willy’s half-brother, Mechanic is so much like him in that he is great-minded and he has a gorgeous long trot and almost stands, 16.2 hands. He is like a replica of Willy but red. Willy was a once-in-a-lifetime horse, and I am so excited that the Pope’s sold us Mechanic since I know he was a special part of their family. We look forward to his future in the show pen and breeding arena.”
“We are really excited to see his future!” says former owner Holt
Graham-Pope, who was Reserve Champion with Mechanic at the 2012 Congress. “I am
looking forward to what he produces, and, of course, his continuing
show career under Stephen and Sandra’s guidance.”
Holt adds, “It was a tough decision to sell him but Shane’s dad,
Johnny Pope, who bred, raised and owned Mechanic along with all of us at
Pope Ranch, decided that Mechanic would have a great future with his
new owners. We still look forward to being Mechanic’s number 1 fans. We
think he has an awesome breeding future as well as still tons of
potential in the show pen. We want to thank everyone who has followed
Mechanic from day one and we look forward to his future.”
Mechanic’s 2014 breeding fee will be $1250 with special consideration going to producing mares. Please contact Stephen Stephens for more information at 817-304-1198 or visit the Dry River Ranch website by clicking here.
