Over the past few years, Charlie and Jason have been experiencing the extreme highs and lows of owning and competing with their barrel racing stallion, Slick By Design. Cole and Martin said it was challenging to deal with the quicker highs and lows in barrel racing, but it has helped them develop new coping skills to handle the pressure and disappoints on the AQHA show circuit.

"People used to want to come see Harley D Zip, and Vital Signs Are Good but now they want to see our other animals first," Charlie Cole admits. "We usually have at least one or two tours a day for our friends that come by and want to see our animals. My rule is that if the animal is known to be dangerous and kill and eat people; we will not have them at the ranch," says Cole.

Cole and Martin discuss five tips that help keep them at the top of their game. Martin and Cole credit much of their success to the fact that they respect and love horses and treat them with dignity. "Charlie and I are just plain and simple," Martin states. "If your horse is happy and healthy and enjoys their life and their jobs, most likely they will try harder, look happier and have a longer career."
