photographer Mallory Beinborn has outdone herself this time. The La
Crosse, Wisconsin native just completed a whirlwind trip where she
photographed over 35 horses and drove over 5,000 miles in 19 days. In a
very short time, Beinborn has become one of the most sought after equine
photographers in the industry.
Skeptics of the supernatural, spirits and the afterlife may give pause when we tell you the story of 16 year-old Emily Bohnsack of Durant, Iowa. During the winter of 2010, Emily was headed to volleyball practice when she was tragically killed in a car accident.
About a year ago, Claire Salter of Marlborough, England thought she may
never be able to walk again, let alone spend time in the saddle. During a trip
to Texas to ride her horses, the 52 year-old started to not feel well. "I could hardly bear the feel of shoes, let alone be able to put on riding boots, and the feeling of walking anywhere was akin to walking on hot coals," Salter recalled.

GoHorseShow is saddened to report that two-time AQHYA World Champion and multiple Congress winner, Im Tuff By Choice passed away at a horse show in Ohio a few weeks ago due to complications associated with colic. "He died the way he would have wanted it," former owner Dawn (Piper) Baker told GoHorseShow. "He loved being on the road and being a show horse."
GoHorseShow is heartbroken to report that one of the all-time great all-around horses, Panners Pride, has passed away at the age of 33. The 1979 chestnut gelding by Mr Scat Man and out of Rocket Queen touched the lives of several riders over the years including: Bob Lawrence, Alma Liles, Lou Petty, Janelle Norton, Ginger Baxter, Debi Mast, Caley Coffey and the Yaklich family.
The therapeutic riding program, Horses of Hope (HOH), located in Baxter Springs, Kansas and Buffalo, Missouri had a great year with two of their riders winning AQHA Year End High Point Awards. Twenty-three year-old Forrest Terry and his equine partner, Kahuna Lady, were the Equestrian with Disabilities Showmanship at Halter winners and Jessie Naaykens and Chip Chocoholic were the year end high point winners in the EWD Hunt Seat Equitation and Western Horsemanship.

"Candy is an exceptional mare," former owner Ray Arnona told GoHorseShow.com. "I've been this business a long time, and she is in a class by herself."
AQHYA World Champion Barrel Racer Chloe Fruth of Maple Lake, Minnesota was known as a fighter. She celebrated her sweet sixteenth birthday party on February 5th before passing away less than two weeks later from a brain tumor. Even into her last breath, she fought to survive. This young girl also brought the same tenacity and competitive spirit into the show arena.
Amateur paint competitor Morgan Ilic of Franklinville, New Jersey has trained her own horses her entire show career. Ilic has won multiple top tens at the APHA World Show which is quite a feat in itself. More remarkably, her accomplishments came while training her horses entirely on her own. In 2010, she was the APHA Reserve World Champion in Novice Amateur Western Riding and the 2011 honor roll champion in Classic Amateur Hunt Seat Equitation.
The controversial topic currently being debated among exhibitors, trainers and horse owners across the country involves the possibility of only arena-legal equipment being allowed on horse show grounds. Many trainers and exhibitors are concerned that these rule changes are unfair because they would limit how they can prepare a horse at the shows.
It is not often that a horse and rider duo stay a team for over 15 years, but Amateur Kelli Hardy and The Indigo Jet have been together for well over a decade. When they started as a team, Hardy was 11 years-old and she showed him in the Small Fry Showmanship at a handful of AQHA shows and open shows in Pennsylvania. Fast forward to 2011, Hardy and Indy achieved their biggest accomplishment when they were finalists in the Amateur Showmanship at the AQHA World Show.
GoHorseShow is saddened to report that beloved Congress winner and war horse, Trace of Good Bar, has passed away due to complications with colic. The 24 year-old sorrel gelding by Zippos Mr Good Bar and out of Tracy Tiger was bred by Stan and Mary Kay Steyskal of Papillion, Nebraska.
