And The Winner Of The $2,000 Harris Leather Gift Certificate Is…

GoHorseShow.com and Phil Harris of Harris Leather and Silverworks were front and center in the Ford Livestock Arena at the Reichert Celebration Wednesday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After a month of GoHorseShow.com readers voting for their favorite ad in July issue of GoMag!, it was time to draw for the winner of the $2,000 Harris Leather Gift Certificate.

Prior to placing the winners of the Nike Non-Pro 2YO Western Pleasure class,  the GoHorseShow.com golf cart, fondly known as “The Green Machine,” escorted Phil Harris into the middle of the arena. Phil held a lime green bucket that contained all 9,218 contest votes, each vote printed onto a small piece of paper.  Phil threw each piece of paper into the air and grabbed one lucky name and read the name out loud. Congratulations Sara Terry of Iowa, the winner of the $2,000 Harris Leather Gift Certificate!

Terry was in the jam packed stands watching the class that evening and screamed and threw her hands into the air when her name was announced.  (See picture in slide show). The theme song to the Price Is Right “Come On Down” played in the background as Terry ran down the stairs to the arena.

“I love your website and I go to it all the time!” announced an excited Terry, who ironically was wearing a pink Harris Leather sweatshirt that she had purchased at Harris Leather.  The winning vote was Terry voting for her own ad in GoMag spotlighting her horse, Hot Kisses.  The ad was designed by Holt Pope of Holt Advertising

GoHorseShow.com and Harris Leather got together on July 1st and offered a contest to the thousands of GoHorseShow.com readers.

The contest worked like this-
– Every day during the month of July, any GoHorseShow.com reader could vote for their favorite ad in the digital online magazine, GoMag!
– When voting, both the person voting and the person whose ad was voted for were entered into the drawing.

GoHorseShow.com received 9,218 votes in this contest and although Sara Terry won the Harris Gift Certificate, her ad in the July issue of GoMag! did not receive the most votes.  That honor went to Payton Graves and her horse “Oh Whatever.” The 13 year old Graves from  Double Oak,Texas, received 1,283 votes, which accounted for 14% of the total number of votes.
