The World Conformation Horse Association (WCHA) announced that it is postponing its annual meeting and anniversary celebration which was to take place during the Congress. It has been rescheduled during the AQHA World Championship Show in Oklahoma City in November.
“The WCHA is pleased to be moving positively in its direction and finds that a postponement of its annual meeting and fund raising auction is the best use of the funds entrusted by the members,” said Chairman Dick Donnelly. “An annual meeting and the fund raising auction will be held during the AQHA World Show at a time most convenient to our members. The WCHA Executive Committee believes the Oklahoma City location is more centrally located to the membership and will provide for greater attendance at lower individual costs to our membership.”
Current ticket holders will retain their reservation for the World Show, but may cancel by emailing Julie Bryant. Auction donors will be contacted about their preferences regarding their donated items. Ticket purchasing by credit card will be available shortly.
“Greg Demint and Julie Bryant will continue to work with the WCHA in the success of this event and we appreciate their efforts to date,” said Donnelly.
In another key decision, WCHA has retained the services of Diversified Management Services (DMS) as the association management company through its Senior Vice President Kerry Goodson. Kerry holds a BA degree in Journalism from Drake University. She is a DMS stockholder and is a member of the AMC Institute, American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), and Iowa Society of Association Executives (ISAE). She is a graduate of the 2006-2007 ISAE Leadership Class. She enjoys attending horse shows and volunteers at animal shelters.
Des Moines based DMS counts among its national clients the Association of Former Agents of the United States Secret Service, the Stadium Managers Association and the International Association of Professional Security Consultants.
“The Executive Committee performed an exhaustive search of management companies in order to meet our goal of providing a professional and efficient level of service to our membership,” said Donnelly. “With only a year under its belt, WCHA will move forward much more rapidly with the professional assistance of Kerry Goodson and Diversified Management, who will be key in staging our annual meeting at the World Show.”
