The Texas Classic is proud to introduce the Inaugural Texas Classic Freestyle Reining – the latest exciting addition to the largest Quarter Horse show in the state of Texas.
Beautiful spins and powerful stops mingled with original costumes and musical themes – the Texas Classic Freestyle Reining offers $10,000 in prize money and is the show’s hottest tickets.
One of the Western horseman’s most popular events, Reining is a virtual rising star in the horse industry. It is the newest event on the slate of activities to be considered for the Olympic Games and winning a single championship at a national-level competition like the Texas Classic can make a horse and trainer the buzz of the entire industry.
Reining developed from the moves a western horse is asked to perform during regular ranch duties. Competitive patterns include spins, stops, rollbacks, speed variations and directional changes. Freestyle Reining uses costumes, music, themes, props and special effects lighting to add to their presentation, making for thrilling and sometimes emotional performances.
The Inaugural Texas Classic Freestyle Reining will attract the nation’s elite Reiners, making the competition unique. Even if this is your first horse show, you’re sure to love Reining’s elegance and athleticism.
