Congratulations to Only Yours owned and raised by Stanley and Susan Scott. Only Yours brought home a $100,000 check for winning The Southern Belle $200,000 Breeder’s 3 Year Old Novice Horse slot class. “She was incredible,” said Stanley Scott of Haylo Farm in Ocala, Florida. “It was an outstanding class and the horses looked awesome, but she was unbelievable.”
The sorrel mare ridden by Kenny Lakins of Wilmington, Ohio, was the unanimous winner, placing first on all four of the judge’s cards. “She was unreal and I thought she was the winner but I never expected to win under all the judges,” Scott added.
“They loped forever,” said the Scott’s daughter, Nancy Wilkerson. “The more they loped, the better she got.”
Additionally, Harris Leather and Silverworks paid Lakins and the Scotts $5,000 for showing in the class in a Harris Leather saddle bringing the grand total to a $105,000 payday.
Only Yours is by Invitation Only and out of one of the Scott’s broodmares, Betcha Bite A Chip who is by Zips Chocolate Chip. “I always loved that mare when she showed and wanted her as a broodmare,” admits Scott. “I had a chance to buy her a few years ago and we sent her out to be bred to Invitation Only.”
The resulting foal is now the second horse to win $100,000 that the Scotts raised and showed. Blazing Hot Cookies won the 2007 Reichert Hylton Maiden 3/Over $100,000 Western Pleasure class. According to Stanley, “We have been very lucky and we appreciate the shows for paying the big purses. I hope they keep putting that big money up!”

The Southern Belle Novice class required an entry fee of $4,000. 29 horses showed with a payout through 12th place. The class was open to 3 year old horses who are an offspring of a participating Southern Belle Breeder’s Stallion. The horse may not have earned more than $1,500 in its 2 year old year and earned no more than 10 points.
