New Youth Team Tournament at the 2009 Reichert Celebration

Youth Members…How would you like a FREE pair of jeans and a shirt from Cinch or Cruel Girl? You can get that and much more by simply entering the Youth Team Tournament at the 2009 Reichert Celebration! Not only that, there is NO ENTRY FEE to participate.

The purpose of this tournament is to involve all youth that attend the Reichert Celebration. All youth over the age of 10 are eligible to participate, regardless of breed affiliation. Ten separate classes will be held for this competition.

The members of the winning team will each receive a $1,000 scholarship, a pair of boots, as well as a trophy. The members of the reserve team will each receive a $500 scholarship and a hat.

Entries are currently being accepted for the first ever Youth Team Tournament at the Reichert Celebration! Entry forms can be found here or by calling 319-668-2699. The registration deadline has been extended to July 30. Teams will be named at the Youth Team Reception, which will be held August 8 at 7 p.m.

CONCEPT: Involve all the youth that attend The Reichert Celebration.

MISSION: To encourage goodwill camaraderie, foster mentoring and reward youth for continuing their education.

DATE: Contest will be on Sunday, August 9 at 8:00 a.m.

CLASSES: Ten separate classes will be held for the All Breed Youth Team Tournament, all breeds of horses will show together in the arena. The ten classes are: Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, Equitation, Horsemanship, Trail, Performance Gelding, Performance Mare, All Age Gelding, All Age Mare and Showmanship. Team members may enter as many horses as they would like, but may only show in a maximum of 5 classes in the team tournament.

EXHIBITORS: All youth regardless of breed affiliation, ages 10 and over are welcome to participate. This includes Novice Youth Exhibitors. Participants may enter a maximum of 5 horses (please fill out separate entry forms for each horse); each individual may only enter 5 classes.

ENTRIES: Entry forms can be downloaded here. Contact the Reichert Celebration Office at 319-668-2699 or your Youth Advisor with any questions. The Registration deadline has been extended to July 30, 2009.

NAMING TEAMS: Teams will be named during the Youth Team Reception, courtesy of the Sweet Shop, on Saturday August 8, 2009 at 7 p.m. at a location to be determined.
~Sponsor will draw the Team Captain of each team
~The team captains will then draw for their first team member and continue down until all youth are placed on a team
~This allows the teams to consist of multi-breeds: APHA/ AQHA/ ApHC/ PHBA/ IBHA/ ABRA/ POA, etc.
~There will be no more than ten youth per team

AWARDS: Each member will receive:
~1 pair of jeans & shirt courtesy of Cinch and Cruel Girl
~Team Jacket
~Medallions
~Ribbons

WINNING TEAM: Each member of the winning team will receive a $1000 scholarship and a pair of boots. NOTE: Scholarship winners must provide documentation of acceptance and/or enrollment from school to receive award.

RESERVE TEAM: Each member of the reserve team will receive a $500 scholarship and a hat.

POINTS: Points will be tabulated on a 10 place-10 point system.

10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1
~If there are under 10 entries:
total number of entries equals first place
