Rosevalley Performance Horses was established in 2001 by Iris Oplusstil and her father. Iris had a passion for reiners and used to own a stud named Im So Tari who was 1997 NRHA Futurity Co Reserve Champion.
According to Iris, “We started a training and breeding business after I got back from working in states for two years but I only worked for reining trainers.Coming back to Europe was not easy because the quality of horses was really poor back in 1999. So we decided to import a couple of good reiners and broodmares and start to produce better quality of reining horses and that went really well.
I bought my first pleasure horse in 2000, a gelding by Zippos Mr Goodbar for fun and play around. Well I guess playing around got pretty serious and I won every class in Austria I showed in.
After that people started to bring me pleasure horses to train and it was done. I hired a reining trainer to help me with the reiners because I didn´t have the time to ride them all because I had way too many pleasure and all around horses to ride. It was good problem to have!
The last couple of years I got some good clients who bought me some very good horses to be competitive at the highest level…….THANKS EVERYBODY!
But I have to say I keep two reiners in training because it is fun to go fast at least twice a day.
Our program gets individually adjusted to each clients wishes as well as to the ability and talent of each horse. It is our goal to get the maximum out of each horse without overworking it. The horse should become a sports partner that will last for a long time and that is happy with its job.”
Working together the customer gets a complete understandable picture, where no question is unanswered. The method of coaching has brought many riders to NRHA and AQHA top placings in Non Pro and Youth Divisons (see also Winners Circle for detailed information on our non-pros).
We love working with the horse owners and taking their skills up to the next level, no matter if they want to do competitive showing or just spend some happy hours in the saddle!
