We spoke with Vickie Kent on Thursday, four days after the trailer accident that took the life of her World Champion gelding, Wonit Ona RV Version.
Vickie happily reported that Bebe is getting stronger as her protein levels continue to improve as well as her willingness to eat, drink, and graze. They cut her cast off Wednesday and “It looked really good,” according to Vickie. This is a critical time and they are taking all measures to stave off infection.
Vickie says that Bebe’s hoof wall was crushed but with the help of a rubber shoe she is currently sound. “It’s a blessing that she is alive,” Vickie stated, “but if she could come out of this sound, it would be by the grace of God.”
Vickie and Ronnie specifically wanted to thank Dr. Honnas and his staff at the Texas Equine Hospital in Bryan, Texas, as well as their trainer Robin Frid for everything he has done. They also appreciate the outpouring of love and concern they
have received and want everyone to know how much it means to them.
