2009 AQHA World Champion: Amateur Performance Halter Stallions

Good I Will Be probably needs no introduction. The big bay won the first amateur performance halter stallion world championship in 2007, defended his title in 2008 and has come back to win it again in 2009. Not bad for a 5-year-old. But don’t think of him as a one-trick pony — er, one-trick 16-hander. “Willy” competed with his owner, Rita Crundwell of Dixon, Illinois, in the amateur hunter under saddle earlier this week and will be competing in junior hunter under saddle next week. If Rita has her way, by next year, he’ll be qualified in even more events next year. Rita spoke with the Journal just moments after winning amateur aged stallions with Acoolest and performance halter stallions one more time with Willy.
