Debra Barth has been showing Quarter Horses for about 30 years, but never had a world championship. She’s shown one reserve world champion: PJ Prophets Legacy, the 2001 reserve world champion yearling stallion. And her brother, Steve, showed 2006 reserve world champion yearling mare JR Zips Kid. So when Debra was left last to have her name called with PTMA Star Kid in the 2009 amateur yearling stallions class on November 11, the halter-savvy crowd seemed to know how much reaching this longtime dream must have meant to her – they cheered and cheered.
