Gerri Leigh Pratt and AQHA Professional Horseman Victoria Holt assembled a team of trainers and AQHA Professional Horsemen to qualify The Krymsun Kruzer for the 2009 AQHA World Championship Show. Once “Leroy” was qualified in seven events, he still had to show in them – a difficult prospect for a junior horse.
Still, he was up to the task and earned enough points, including a world championship in junior working hunter, to qualify him for the 2009 Featherlite Superhorse title and a place in the pantheon of American Quarter Horse stars. He also picked up the Most Valuable Horse award in the English disciplines. As the newest Featherlite Superhorse, Leroy earned a $25,000 voucher from Featherlite toward the purchase of a trailer, an embroidered contour western blanket, courtesy of AQHA Corporate Partner WeatherBeeta, and an original Lisa Perry bronze. After the awards ceremony, Gerri Leigh and Vicky talked with the Journal about their strategy and their horse.
