Purina Pros In Pink Fundraiser Held at Highpoint

D&L Farm and Home, Purina Mills and
Highpoint Performance Horses hosted their first Pros In Pink Appreciation Party on September 7, 2010.
The party was held at Highpoint Performance Horses and, despite the arrival of
tropical storm Hermine, more than 120 horse industry members from the
Aubrey/Pilot Point area attended.

The guests were treated to a prime rib dinner
and bread pudding dessert from Rafter L Chuckwagon out of Poolville, TX. They
were also given tours of the facility including visits with the camel,
kangaroo, miniature horses and to the tortoise house. One of the highlights of
the evening was the Mechanical Bull Calcutta from which all of the proceeds
were donated to the North Texas Affiliate of Susan G Komen For The Cure®. Ten riders
participated raising a total of $5350. Shelli Ries of Aubrey, Texas posted the
longest ride at 22 seconds. She and her winning bidder, Simons Show Horses,
each took home 20 free bags of Purina Mills Lifestyle Horse Feed.

Several local veterinarians participated
and then had their own Vet Buck-Off to raise an additional $400. There was also
a Best Pink Outfit Contest won by Cara Christensen (pictured here with mom, Christi) of Whitesboro, Texas. She also
took home 20 free bags of Purina Mills Lifestyle Horse Feed. The event served
as a local launch to Purina’s Pink 50 campaign which will kick off nationally
in October. Purina is putting six of its best selling feeds in pink bags and
will be donating a portion of each pink bag sold to breast cancer research. The
goal isto unite animal lovers everywhere and raise awareness and support
for breast cancer research. Click here for more information.
