Rita Crundwell and Execute win the first world championship of the 2010 AQHA World Championship Show.
The first world championship of the 2010 AQHA World Championship Ship went to a familiar face.
Longtime breeder and exhibitor Rita Crundwell of Dixon, Illinois, led her homebred stallion Execute to the title in amateur performance halter stallions.
“I wanted him to have a chance,” Rita says. Execute is a 2004 son of Mr Touchdown Kid and is out of Forever Coolest by Coolest.
For the last three years running, 2007-2009, Rita has won the amateur performance halter stallions with her homebred stallion Good I Will Be. She qualified both “Willie” and Execute for the 2010 finals, and when it came down to which stallion to show, Rita decided on Execute.
She showed Execute to the world title in 2005 in amateur yearling stallions – the same year she showed his embryo-flush twin brother, Coolest Touch, to the reserve in yearling geldings. Rita also showed Execute to the 2006 reserve 2-year-old stallions title.
After his halter championships, Rita sent Execute to the roping pen. You can read more about Rita and Execute’s win here. The Journal will interview each new world champion during the World Show. Be sure to check back often to read what the winners have to say.
