APHA Sets World Championship Show Dates Through 2015

After extensive research and consideration the Executive Committee of the American Paint Horse Association (APHA) has announced that the dates for future APHA World Championship Shows will remain in the current summer and fall timeframe.

World Championship Show dates have been secured with the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas through 2015.

“Holding the World Shows during the time period that best meets the needs of the Association has always been of utmost concern to the Executive Committee,” said Travis Titlow, APHA President. “We understand that it is challenging to find a time that meets the needs of every member and potential exhibitor of each show. After comprehensive review of the broad range of factors impacting the shows we are confident that these dates are the best available for the benefit of our members and horses, as well as the advancement of the Association as a whole.”

The APHA Executive Committee recently completed a thorough analysis of the Open/Amateur World Show and weighed a variety of variables, including:

• Availability of the show dates at the facility

• Ability to meet the current physical needs of the show and provide for future growth

• Impact on APHA regional, zone and futurity shows

• Overlap with other breed association and equine performance shows, events, and exhibitions

• Member and Exhibitor feedback

• Financial considerations

“The impact on the existing shows and futurities held by regional clubs was a key factor in determining which time period provides the Association the largest benefit,” explained Titlow. “Supporting our regional clubs is vital to the advancement of the Association, and the EC believes the November dates provide the most opportunity for the success of the Regional Club shows as well as the APHA World Championship Show.”
