Ted Turner Equine Hosts Novice Clinic at Texas Show

World Leader Provides Access and
Education for Equine Enthusiasts

Ted
Turner Equine hosted a training clinic at the All-Novice Show hosted by the
Texas Quarter Horse Association last week at the Hopkins County Civic Center in
Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Ted
Turner Equine, located in Thackerville, Oklahoma is an equine training facility
and operation led by Ted Turner, AQHA’s all-time leading earner of World Championship
titles. Since its inception, TTE has won more than 125 ApHC World
Championships, over 45 APHA World Championships and at least 25 PHBA World
Championships. Turner and his camp provide a variety of niche services, which
include training, sales consulting and equine clinics.

TQHA
hosted the All-Novice Show in a continued effort to provide show attendees with
access to industry-leading professionals and resources. Turner started the
clinic with an over-view explaining that all horses can be trained like a
champion. Topics included a variety of information, from what to look for when
purchasing a horse, to prepping a horse for show presentation. The clinic also provided
a hands-on demonstration with a young horse enthusiast and her horse from the
audience. The clinic concluded
with an open question and answer session, as well as one-on-one questions welcomed
by Turner himself.

A
key philosophy Turner emphasizes at each clinic is the need for both
professionals and amateurs to be consistent when it comes to training,
regardless of the breed. The goal of developing a consistent training programs
allows the owner to formulate a timely and productive routine, while setting
expectations for the horse for better comprehension of how and ultimately why
they’re being trained. TTE clinics can also provide the opportunity for
attendees to learn about some of Turner’s trade-secrets, for those who may not
have the facilities, resources or staff of a professional equine trainer.

“TQHA was so honored to have Ted Turner
conduct the clinic for our annual All-Novice show,” said Barbara Linke, TQHA
Executive Director. “He is very much revered and respected in the Quarter Horse
industry and has so much knowledge to share with show competitors. Ted is a
great friend to Texas Quarter Horse Association.”

The clinic is an example of upcoming TTE
events and services scheduled for 2011. The clinic also rolled out TTE’s new
on-line newsletter “Expect Success” which will be used to keep fans close to
TTE news, calendar of events and equine news.
