On June 9-18th, The Tar Heel Triple Classic and A Little Futurity came to Raleigh, North Carolina with an action packed futurity featuring tons of prizes and money given away. This helped give exhibitors maximum show time, and maximum fun. Whether it was the full slate of futurity and NSBA classes or the southern hospitality, exhibitors got the chance to show against some of the toughest competition in the country. The “Tar Heel Triple Classic” is a Premier Circuit combining the NCQHYA Show, the NCQHA Jamboree and the Little Futurity for 10 full sets of points and 10 full days of showing.
The judges for this circuit are Mike Carter, Betsy Tuckey, Jennifer Thompson, Gary Trubee, Allen Mitchels, Jeff Allen, Joe Carter, Bennie Sargent, Debbie Kail, and Clark Parker.
The judges for The Little Futurity are Buddy Fisher, Scott Neuman (whose birthday was June 11) and Jim Searles.
Exhibitor Sarah Rosciti who also did the candids for GoHorseShow says that she loves this show. The western pleasure classes are some of the toughest in the country. There were over 25 in the Junior Western Pleasure and the Green Pleasure was also nice sized. The pattern classes were large with 20 in the open trail.
“They gave snow cones out during the middle of the day, which is a welcome treat. The weather has been brutal,” Rosciti says. “They also gave random prizes away, there were two exhibitor dinners. The show staff has been more than accommodating. There are lots of vendors here and plenty of restaurants and a Whole Foods two miles away. The camper hook up are great, and I really have nothing bad to say, I want to come back again and again!”
