If you have a current membership and wish to receive a copy, please call the Forms Line at (817) 834-2742, ext. 271, to request one. The proposed rule changes and clarifications will also be available on the APHA website at apha.com/forms/rulebooks.html.

One of the rules the Performance Department wanted to mention again is the points adjustment rule, AM-205. See the chart and rule below.

AM-205. A.2. A point adjustment rule for outside breed points was passed at Convention. This means in 2012 if you have other breed points in these associations (PtHA, ApHC, PHBA, Australian QHA, ABRA, AHA, IBHA or POA) you will see an adjustment on your points records. This could also mean that you will become eligible for a Novice category that you previously were ineligible for based on these other breed points. More information will be sent out to members with the 2012 Novice cards. (Applies to Amateur/Novice Amateur and Novice Youth.)

Rule Change Proposals for 2013

APHA is a member-driven organization, so your suggestions help make APHA membership, programs and services the best they can be. Each spring, APHA holds a Workshop to review APHA rules and policies, and during this event, member-submitted rule changes and suggestions are reviewed. The 2012 APHA Workshop is May 31-June 2, 2012, in Grapevine, Texas.

APHA members have until January 15, 2012, to submit items for the workshop. The deadline for submission of rule change proposals for 2013 is January 15, 2012.

If you have any suggestions for change that will help us improve or clarify rules, programs or services you can download the appropriate form from APHA.com.

2012 World Show qualification

Beginning at the 2012 World Shows, qualification is required. But it’s easy! Participation is the key. Follow these 3 easy steps:
