Shannon P. (Zimmer) ÂRhineer, 40, of Leola, passed away on March 25, 2012 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born August 29, 1971 in Syracuse, New York, she was the daughter of Richard H. and Joann L. (McKervan) Zimmer. She will be lovingly missed by her husband, Mike W. Rhineer, Jr., of Leola.
Shannon loved horses; she competed in state and national competitions. In addition to riding, she was an accomplished judge. She also was the former manager of the Greystone Manor Horse Farm. In addition to her Âhobbies, Shannon devoted her life to her loving husband and children.
Mrs. Rhineer is survived by her sons: Michael Richard, 8, and Colton Patrick, 5; her stepdaughter: Dallas Cheyenne Rhineer; her sister, Kathleen Anne Zimmer; and her brother, Michael C. ÂZimmer.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012 at The Worship Center, 2384 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, with the Reverends Samuel J. Smucker and Amos G. Dienner officiating. Visitations will be held Wednesday, March 28, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Boehm’s United Methodist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to Lancaster County Christian School, 2390 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601. Checks should be payable to the LCCS Scholarship Fund and will be used for the benefit of Michael & Colton Rhineer.
