Help Fellow Horsewoman Fight Brain Cancer

Fellow reining enthusiast Deni Belson Austin needs funds to help her pay for her brain cancer treatment. Thanks to Stephanie Bjorkman for providing GoHorseShow with this information

———More than 17,000 people in the United States are diagnosed each year with a brain cancer. These tumors interfere with vital functions and are life threatening. Cancerous brain tumors usually grow rapidly, crowding and invading tissue.

Just over 6 years ago, Deni Belson Austin (daughter of Dave Belson, and sister of Andi Paul), a Cave Creek Arizona resident, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. With the odds against her, Deni “fought back” and survived her brain cancer surgery. While some prefer to put their experiences behind them, others choose to draw on them, and get involved with cancer-related activities or causes. Deni has worked with many different cancer charities donating her time and “story” to help inspire other people with cancer to “fight back”.

But now…Deni needs our help. Recently, Deni’s brain cancer came back, and she had to receive another brain surgery. Due to the unique nature of her cancer Deni has had to be provided with a team of specialists at MD Anderson Cancer center in Houston, Texas. Unfortunately much of this treatment is out of her insurance network and she will have to pay these expenses out of pocket.

Please help us raise money to help her and her family with her medical expenses. The Arizona Reining Horse Association will be having a silent Auction to raise money for Deni during their annual Mother’s Day Slide on May 9th-14th. We are looking for items to be donated to help raise money for the silent auction. Anything would be greatly appreciated!!! If your interested in donating please contact me direct at [email protected].

If you prefer to donate money, a fund has been set up with the National Bank of Arizona to collect money for Deni. Checks can be mailed to the National Bank of Arizona, PO Box 5288, Carefree, Arizona 85377. Please make your checks out to Deni Austin Cancer Donation account.
