One Hot Drama Mama Sells to Angela Gay

GoHorseShow would like to congratulate Angela Gay on the purchase of One Hot Drama Mama (Peaches) from Jill Voss of New Liberty, Iowa. The 2007 bay mare by One Hot Krymsun and out of Delitas Good Version has been developing into an outstanding pleasure and trail mare under the supervision of Joni Nelson of Davenport, Iowa.

“This has been an amazing journey,” says former owner, Jill Voss, whose family bred and raised Peaches. “Never in my life did I think I would be associated with a horse that has amassed over 600 points in two years. Let alone raise her and have her be the daughter of my all-time favorite old show mare, Delitas Good Version. It’s been fun, but I’m ready to start new things with my young horses.”

Voss’ favorite wins with the mare include being the 2012 unanimous winners of the Amateur Western Pleasure at the Dixie Nationals, Top 10 in the Amateur Western Pleasure at the Congress and winning the Gordyville Shootout in the Western Pleasure. Nelson also won Circuit Championships in the Green and Junior Trail at the Dixie Nationals and Big A Circuit Championship in the Green Trail. The mare also received her AQHA Championship and superiors in the western pleasure, and junior and green trail.

Nelson said that it was a hard decision to sell this once-in-a-lifetime horse, but that everyone was ready to move on to a new chapter in their lives.

“She’s a great, easy horse,” Nelson says. “I have been blessed to ride and train her along with my husband and Jill. It’s now Angela’s turn. Patty will give her a great life, and I would like to thank both Angela and Patty for allowing me to still show her at the Congress and World Show.”

Voss agrees with Nelson that it was a hard decision, but that it was made easier because she has two “buns” in the oven that are full siblings to Peaches as well as a three year-old gelding, One Hot Delight, that she is sending to the Nelson’s this weekend to get ready to show.

“We’ve been having a very tough time getting Peaches’ dam in foal, and finally, we have sucessfully implanted two embryos into recipient mares and are expecting babies this spring,” Voss excitedly says. “Also, I have accomplished every goal I set out to do with the mare. She has far surpassed my wildest expectations, so, it was time for her to go on and be famous. She’s a great, great mare, and trust me, I’ll be keeping a close eye on her success.”
