GoHorseShow would like to congratulate Anne Wilson of Dallas, Texas and Visible Investment (Dudley) on their third consecutive win at the Select World in the Showmanship. Wilson said she was inspired by the Olympics and Michael Phelps when preparing for the Adequan Select World this year.
“It was great to three peat, and I felt like it was possible since Michael Phelps was able to do it this year at the Olympics in one of his events,” Wilson told GoHorseShow. “I worked and practiced hard and my pattern came together really well today. The pattern had several transitions and two setups which worked toward our strengths, and I was really happy with our go. I was a little nervous because we only practiced it once because he tends to do his best patterns when he is fresh.”
Wilson describes her twelve year-old gelding as a huge puppy dog, and she says that he is always sweet and a joy to be around. Wilson said she was also happy that all three of the select competitors in the Briggs’ barn also made the Top 10. The barn went to the restaurant, Coyote Bluff to celebrate, and, they used Anne’s trophy as the centerpiece.
This is Anne and Dudley’s seventh year together, and Wilson says that Dudley is still for sale. “After we won the all-around at last year’s Select World Show, I thought it was time to move on and maybe find a new challenge,” says, Anne, about selling Dudley. “But, he is really hard to replace, and I’m not that eager to sell him. I would like to find another horse before we sell him–so we will see.” (Pictured with Nancy Cooper and Dan Yeager outside Coyote Bluff after win)
Anne says she would like to thank her husband for being her groom and cheerleader at the shows as well as well as her trainers, John and Jill Briggs, for all their help and support. GoHorseShow would like to congratulate her on her huge win!
