UPDATE: GoHorseShow would like to congratulate Kaylee Mellott and Only In Showbiz on winning the Novice Youth Western Riding 14-18 on Thursday night!
According to Jason Martin, “When Show Diva was 5 years old, she won the Junior Western Riding with me and the Novice Western Riding with Teresa Moran. This year, Diva’s son Only In Showbiz did the exact same thing with Charlie and Kaylee!”

GoHorseShow would like to congratulate Charlie Cole and Only In Showbiz on their Congress win in the Junior Western Riding with an impressive high score of 232. The five year-old bay gelding comes from breeding royalty with Invitation Only as his sire and the late great, Show Diva, as his dam.
Only In Showbiz, better known as Juan, is owned by Kaylee Mellott who is the daughter of AQHA judge and trainer, Jeff Mellott. Kaylee is on a roll after becoming Reserve World Champions in the western riding at this year’s AQHYA World Show.
When Cole walked in the arena on Juan, he was already sitting second on VS Code Red (Waylon) where he marked a 228. “I had a great go on Waylon until my last lead change where my timing was a little off,” says Cole, who won the class with Waylon last year. “I was happy, but I knew we could have done better. I just thought to myself–it is all or nothing Juan! I put my hand down and jogged off and Juan was perfect from beginning to end. He is a really cool horse, and it makes the win even sweeter since he was born and raised at Highpoint for the Moran Family and out of Show Diva, who we lost a year ago–so it is a real tribute to her.”
Juan’s former owner, Theresa Moran, as well as the owner of his dam, Show Diva, was excited to hear the good news. “Congrats to Number Juan for their big win–the only horse they ever let me name,” Theresa says.
Only In Showbiz’s owner, Kaylee Mellott, was really excited when we talked to her right after his win. “I was very nervous watching him because Charlie hasn’t shown him that much, but I thought he had a pretty good chance to do well. We knew going in that Rusty Green scored a 230 so that was who we had to beat.”
Mellott is looking forward to showing Juan in a few days in the 12-14 and novice events in hunter under saddle, equitation, and western riding as well as the 12-14 Youth Horsemanship.
“I would like to thank Charlie, Jason, my dad, and the Morans for giving me the opportunity to own such a great horse,” Kaylee says.
