This Is Personal and The Fire Escape are Top 2 in Masters HUS

GoHorseShow would like to congratulate, This is Personal, ridden by Trisha Yamber, and, The Fire Escape, shown by Scott Jones on being the top two in the Masters Two Year-Old Hunter Under Saddle Class on Saturday night.

“This was an exceptional group of two year-old hunt seat horses,” says amateur competitor, Eric Mendrysa, who was a spectator in the stands. “Job well done and all the owners and trainers should be ecstatic.”

The Masters Class is for two year-olds that have never been shown which is no small feat at the world’s largest show. This is Personal is by Adria Smith’s stallion, These Irons Are Hot and out of Personal Invite, whose father is the great stallion, Invitation Only.

The 2010 chestnut gelding is owned by Carl Yamber of Roberta, Georgia. Trisha had two firsts, a fourth and a fifth place to come out the overall winner. They also took home a paycheck for $50,000!

“We raised him and his mom and dad. His mom was an honor roll western pleasure champion, so he is special to us,” says trainer and owner, Carl Yamber right after the win. “His nickname is Snoop Dogg so that should tell you a lot about his personality. He is really laid back and quiet to be around, and we will just continue showing him until he is sold.”

The Reserve Champion was, The Fire Escape (Jim), that is out of the great thoroughbred mare, Escapist, and by the highly popular, Good I Will Be. The 2010 sorrel gelding is owned by Janae Walker Bronson of Chelmsford, Massachusetts and was shown by Scott Jones.

AQHA judge and equine sales specialist, Ruth Ellen, who owned Jim’s dam, Escapist, before her passing, says that, “I couldn’t be prouder of the entire team!”

Owner, Janae Walker Bronson told GoHorseShow that Jim is everything they hoped he would be. “He is the sweetest horse and loves to lick everybody,” says, Janae right after the placings. “I was pretty calm until the class lined up for the results, and, then, I started getting really nervous, but the class turned out great for us.”

Trainer Scott Jones adds, “Jim was perfect, and I couldn’t have asked him to be any better. It is intimidating to be showing a two year-old for the first time in front of that many people, but he was great. I knew in the warm up pen that he was going to show great, and I’m so proud of him in his debut.”
