GoHorseShow.com
would like to welcome Mary Shown as our new Intern. Mary is a Journalism major at
Indiana University has been an avid reader of our website.
Mary has been involved with horses since her godmother introduced her to them when she
was four years old. “Horses have always been an important part of my life and I
would really like to keep it that way,” Mary told GoHorseShow. “Interning with
GoHorseShow.com will definitely help keep me involved with the horses.”
During
her youth years, Mary started in 4-H events, and after purchasing her first
quarter horse, Redee In A Flash, she became more active in AQHA. Mary achieved
accomplishments such as Novice Youth All-Around at the Cap Gun Circuit in 2010
and several circuit championships in horsemanship and equitation at other shows.
After
leaving home for college in 2011, Mary felt a distance from the horse
world. “Riding was always my stress reliever and since I couldn’t do that as
much as I wanted, I would go on GoHorseShow.com every day and read all about
what was going on,” she said. “I am very excited about this position because it
combines my interest in journalism and show horses, and I look forward to
meeting many new people through this great opportunity.”
In
addition to writing feature stories for GoHorseShow.com, Mary will be traveling
with her former trainer and friend, Jenell Pogue, to both AQHA and APHA shows
over this summer to interview and report news that occurs in the horse world.
“It just feels like a dream. I cannot even express how truly blessed I feel and
how excited I am to work with such a great website.” Along with writing for us,
Mary will also be involved in her 4H community as a junior leader for her horse
and pony club. “I’d really like to stay involved as much as I can with horses
and GoHorseShow.com really is the best when it comes to that!”
