Extremely Hot Chips Expanding His Talent to Breeding Arena

Pilot Knob Quarter Horses and owner of Extremely Hot Chips, Russ Louderback of Pendleton, Indiana are happy to announce that Chip has been enrolled in the new Western Pleasure Super Sires Program which will help increase the value of the up-and-coming foals from this outstanding pleasure stallion.

The 2006 chestnut stallion by NSBA Hall of fame inductee, Blazing Hot, and out of Miss Trophy Chip, was bred by trainer, Carl Yamber. Chip has won over $70,000 in all time futurity earnings and was the 2010 High Point Pleasure stallion in the nation. He has also placed Top 5 in the Junior Western Pleasure at the World Show twice as well as being the 2009 Congress Champion in the 3 Year Old Non-Pro Limited Western Pleasure and Reserve Champion in the 3 Year Old Open Western Pleasure. With his pedigree, success in the show ring, and the top trainers involved with this stallion, there is a great chance this stallion will be a success in the breeding arena as well.

Louderback’s goal is to have an AQHA breeding farm which produces high quality futurity prospects for the show ring every year. Louderback explains how he ended up purchasing Chip. Interestingly, he was a customer before he was an owner.

“I have two nice mares that I wanted to get embryos from last year; A Cooki For Certain (dam of WhatsCooknGoodLookn) and Tootsee Roll by RL Best of Sudden. I bought Tootsee from Bret Parrish and asked his advice for stallions to cross well with these mares and he recommended Extremely Hot Chips for both mares,” says Louderback, who recently purchased the stallion from Cheryl Mullikin. “I started researching Chip and there was nothing not to like. So I was a customer breeding my mares to Chip before we ever considered buying him. We are very excited for the arrival of these new foals in the spring. I wanted him as a stallion but after riding Chip once, I fell in love with him. Chip has an awesome presence; so strong and beautiful with a calmness not often seen, especially a stallion.”

Louderback continues, “What impresses me most about Chip is his mind; how he is able to go from the breeding barn to the show ring and always be at the top of the class. He knows his job and gets it done. He does it with consistency and giving his all.”

Louderback told GoHorseShow that his first and foremost goal in furthering Chip’s breeding career is to cross him with high quality mares. This year there will be a few of Chip’s babies in the show ring, but he bred close to 100 mares in 2012, so his future is looking bright. As far as his show career, the stallion will continue to be shown in the western pleasure as well as possibly branching out and adding western riding to his repertoire.

“Mike Hay and I have a commitment to give every customer the most honest and best customer service we can provide. There are no hidden charges with Mike–he will tell you in advance what to expect. Again, I was a customer before an owner. Mike and I will make decisions that are in the best interest of the horse and the breeding customer,” Louderback states.
