Invited To The Dance, (Warren), is a 16’1 hand 2009 Homozygous Tobiano stallion by Invited Back (sired by Willy Be Invited) and out of a Principle Investment mare. The young stallion is currently standing at Harnish Performance Horses located in South Bend, Indiana.
“Warren carries the bloodlines of some of the best quarter horses in the show pen– Invitation Only, Willy Be Invited, and Principle Investment, along with the promise of color since he is homozgyous,” says Julie Harnish, breeding manager of Harnish Performance Horses. “He can jog as well as long trot and will produce great all-around Paint horses. His temperment is kind and willing–the type of horse anyone would want to be around.”
Invited To the Dance’s introductory breeding fee for 2013 is $950. The talented young stallion is owned by Vanessa Froman of Sawyer, Michigan, who has been involved with horses ever since birth. Vanessa’s parents, Dennis and Diane Kliemchen, actually met at a horse show. With her past show horses, Froman has been on the APHA Showmanship honor roll as well as being in the Top Five at the Zone shows and having multiple PtHA World Top Tens.
“I wasn’t looking to buy a horse when I ended up with Warren,” says Froman, who is a graduate of Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana with a degree in Finance and Accounting. “It was right after the Fall Color Classic in 2010 and at end of my first year with my show gelding, Gentlemen Step Aside. I called Brent Harnish just to chat, and he told me about an Invited Back yearling stud that they raised and thought might be homozygous.”
Froman continues, “Brent had been telling me for a while that I should give some serious thought into entering the breeding business and he thought Warren would be the perfect match for my family–so that is how Warren joined the Froman Family.”
Warren has yet to make his show debut, but Froman is hoping to wrap up the breeding season, so he can show in the hunter under saddle and western pleasure later this year. Froman mentions that Harnish Assistant Trainer, Jenell Pogue, is training him in between collections.
“I’ll probably make Jenell take him in Tobiano Color too, she just doesn’t know it yet,” Froman says laughing.
Froman is excited about her young horse’s potential and calls him her “loverboy”. “Every time I get to see him he always welcomes me by putting his head in the center of my belly, then, he cuddles the side of his muzzle into my face. He has a warm soft touch that is always what I need from him,” Froman says. “He is kind and quiet and we hope he passes along his willing disposition to his foals. The icing on the cake is that he is homozygous, no solid foals.”
Froman is anxiously waiting on the arrival of Invited To The Dance’s first foal, out of an RR Jose Cuervo mare with an accomplished show record.
“Waiting on the new foals is like waiting for Christmas morning when you are five years-old again,” Vanessa states. “The mare owners who bred to Warren last year and in 2013 have a special place in my heart. I do not know if I can ever truly say just how much their belief in him means to me.”
