The tentative schedules are now available online for the 2013 American Quarter Horse Association Novice championship shows.
The Nutrena AQHA East Novice Championship Show in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, is tentatively slated for October 1-6. The SmartPak AQHA West Novice Championship Show in Las Vegas is tentatively scheduled for October 2-6.
“A day has been added to the Nutrena East Novice Championship schedule,” said Patti Carter-Pratt, AQHA executive director of shows.
When the locations of the 2013 Novice championships were announced February 28, it was noted that the events were tentatively scheduled for October 2-6. An additional day was added to the East location to compensate for new over fences classes, location constraints and the volume of entries.
“AQHA’s aim is to make every exhibitor’s experience positive at these championship events,” Carter-Pratt said. “There is a learning curve for every new event, and we appreciate the constructive suggestions we have received from competitors to help grow the Novice championships. Based on exhibitor feedback at the inaugural events, the AQHA Regional and Novice Championship Committee thought it wise to start the Nutrena East Novice Championship one day earlier.
“From our entry projections, the SmartPak West Novice Championship will fit well within October 2-6,” Carter-Pratt added. “However, if entries exceed our estimates, the schedule might be adjusted accordingly.”
