Rodrock Candids from Lucky 7 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee

“The Lucky 7 was a great show,” says Meg DePalma, amateur rider, who shows in the all-around events with her horse, Zip Back N Yak. “We have never shown in Tennessee so we weren’t sure how it was going to turn out. The amateur classes were three to four pointers, and with six judges, it was definitely worth the trip from Georgia. The weather wasn’t the best but we showed everything inside and there were several places to ride. The exhibitors were given “Lucky 7″ lotto tickets for first place, such a cool idea–I won two dollars, haha!”

Amateur competitor Sarah Elder Chabot also agreed with DePalma. “What a big show for Tennessee–we had a ton of high quality entries from 33 in the Amateur Performance Geldings to 20 in the All-Age Working Hunter. Across all disciplines the show had some great numbers,” says, Chabot, who finished qualifying her new horse, A Well Dressed Man for the AQHA World Show in the Amateur Hunter Hack. “There were certainly some late nights than ran into early mornings, but the show management team is already working on how to accommodate for the larger numbers for next year.”

Chabot adds, “I loved all of the great dinners and lunches from delicious barbeque to a Mexican fiesta. I am sure all of the exhibitors appreciated the yummy grub and beverages!”
