Vested Pine, The Good Ranger & Pure Dynamic Foals Now Available

For Lori Watkins at Black Creek Crossing, there is heightened excitement on the arrival of the 2013 foals. According to Lori, moving Vested Pine and Pure Dynamic to Cooper Quarter Horses in late 2010 has proven to be wonderful for the stallions and mare owners. Also, adding young sire, The Good Ranger to her stallion line up has completed the full spectrum of bloodlines that Lori can offer to mare owners.

“We feel confident that the communication and service to our customers has been second to none with Clarice managing the stallions and mares,” Watkins commented. “You can be confident your horse will be taken care of as if it’s one of her own.”

Watkins adds, “We also have some nice foals by The Good Ranger, Vested Pine, and Pure Dynamic that are currently available for purchase. Contact me or Clarice for more information.”

Representing Black Creek Crossing at the Tom Powers this year will be Chad Piper with Lazy Lopin Ranger in the Two Year-Old Western Pleasure Yearling Stakes Sale class.

“Solo is a gorgeous gray gelding by The Good Ranger that we are very excited about and will be available for sale after the show,” says Lori Watkins, who owns Black Creek Crossing which is located in Hamilton, Indiana. “World Champion and top performing dun, Dunup Dynamic (also available) will be showing in trail and western riding.”

Being a younger sire, The Good Ranger’s get are starting to make their mark and already have an impressive list of wins including: This Is Why Im Here (shown and then owned by John Briggs) which won the 2012 NSBA World Champion Three Year-Old Open Trail, Reichert Celebration Res. Champion Three and Four Year-Old Open Trail, and Res. Champion Three and Four Year-Old Stakes Trail. His current owner Jennifer Kyle has been racking up the points and titles as well. Wendy Boynton’s horse, SCR Hez N Good Range, were 2012 World Show Qualifiers in Amateur Hunter Under Saddle and Amateur Performance Halter.

Watkins tells GoHorseShow that she purchased The Good Ranger who is by Zippos Mr Good Bar because she believed his heavier bone and greater size would be complimentary to the Pure Dynamic and Vested Pine daughters.

“He has an interesting color combination with his mother being gray and his sire dominant for the roan gene. He appears gray but has been tested by UC Davis to carry markers for an alternate roan gene (the exact markers that Zippos Mr Good Bar carries as well) so he is a special case where the roan is masked by the gray. His sire record substantiates the findings with 15 roan and 27 gray foals produced as of last years AQHA offspring report,” Watkins explains.

The other outstanding stallion owned by Watkins is Pure Dynamic. He is a gorgeous black stallion that is homozygous for the black gene. He is a superior western pleasure horse and now a World Champion sire. He is a full brother to Dynamic In The Dark and sired by the legendary stallion Dynamic Deluxe. Pocos Unique Fashion, his dam, is also on the Leading Broodmares List.

“He has built his reputation producing athletic, trainable, gorgeous offspring that have longevity in the show pen and the strength of bloodlines that cross well on all other families,” Watkins states. “Building credentials is a long process and we are happy to report that Pure Dynamic’s offspring has been amassing many great accomplishments that we list on our in the news page of the website as they happen.”

Leaving nothing to chance, he was thoroughly tested for OLWS, GBED, and HERDA (all negative) so that their customers can be assured that crossing him with their mares will not bring any genetic disorder that can be a marketing problem for resulting foals later on. He is also homozygous for the black gene so he cannot produce a red based foal (red dun, palomino, sorrel, chestnut).

Last year was a huge year for Pure Dynamic’s offspring. Of special note is AQHA Hes Purely Dynamic owned by Brister Shum, who has earned six Superiors, plus they were awarded the distinction of earning their AQHA Champion title within the last two years. Another spectacular accomplishment was amassing 25 World Champion and Reserve World Champion titles with APHA. Performing foals include: Purely Dynamic, This Is Pure Pleasure, Shez Pure Dynamite, Im Pure N Simple, RC Dynamic Impulse, and Dunup Dynamic.

Black Creek Crossing welcomed Vested Pine into the family in 2006. During his own show career, Vested Pine earned 105.5 AQHA points in Performance and Halter. His total NSBA earnings exceeded $18,000 and he recorded numerous World and Congress top 10 finishes. He was Congress Limited Open Western Maturity Champion in 1996 and even stood Grand Champion at Halter and won two AQHA All Around titles.

Sired by The Invester and out of Zippos Bay Lady, Vested Pine has also proven himself as a sire. His foals have excelled in both AQHA and NSBA show arenas. The gorgeous 1991 chestnut stallion, Vested Pine, has sired 10 World and Reserve Champions in different breeds organizations as well as numerous Congress Champions.

“Vested Pine is the sire that undoubtedly produces a great hock,” says Clarice Cooper, the owner and manager of Cooper Quarter Horses where Vested Pine stands. “We are excited to have him here at Cooper Quarter Horses, LLC and be a part of his legacy.”

Some of his famous foals are, I Gotta Good Name, who was the 2010 Reserve World Champion Amateur Trail horse; Vested Faith, who is a Youth Reserve World Champion pleasure horse; Britney Pine, who is a World Champion in the Junior Western Pleasure and also a Reserve World Champion in the Senior and Amateur Western Pleasure; Congress Champion One Cent A Minute, and also the late Invest N Vital Signs, who was the winner of the Reichert $100,000 and Reserve World Champion 2 Year-Old Western Pleasure horse.

“We love hearing from our customers; how their foals are doing, and plans they are making for showing them–especially pictures so we can share them on our website,” Watkins says. “Breeding your mare is just the beginning and we’ll be there with you every step of the way.”
