The Iowa Show Circuit, formerly the Iowa Seven Day Run, was held June 3-8 in Des Moines and featured six AQHA split/combined shows. The 2012 show was ranked the seventh largest AQHA show in the country and after the Redbud was cancelled, the 2013 show saw record numbers.
“Iowa was an amazing show and the classes were huge,” says amateur Courtney Archer, who headed for Iowa with her husband, Dave Archer, after the cancellation of the Redbud. “All the pleasure and hunter under saddle classes have had 2 splits and a final, horsemanship has had 50 in it every day and the all age trail had 72 in it. Every stall was full on the show grounds.”
One of the most appealing aspects of the show is its afordability. “The best part about the show is the $250 flat rate and that included your stall and as many classes you want to show in the entire week,” says Archer.
Show manager, Kris Moorman, added, “We want to thank all our exhibitors for a great show this year. We were a sold out show before Redbud was cancelled with 766 stalls sold and only increased that about 24 for Redbud exhibitor stalls. We had about two dozen smaller stalls we don’t normally sell but opened those up for Redbud exhibitors and I think some exhibitors called around and worked it out with others who were willing to give up stalls. I wish we could have accommodated more Redbud exhibitors but we were already a show out show. We look forward to another great show in 2014!”
