The Copper Country Paint-O-Rama shows held in Scottsdale, Arizona this New Year’s week was a huge success.
“We had fantastic horses, fun and happy exhibitors and everyone enjoyed the wonderful 70 plus degree weather,” says Terri Dyson-Wirthlin, show manager for the event. “The club provided several free exhibitor dinners and also put on the most amazing freestyle costume showmanship class. The show entry numbers were very strong this year with approximately 750 entries per judge. The show format of two back-to-back POR’s over six days worked out great.”
Terri adds, “It is always an honor to manage a Arizona Paint Horse Club (APHC) show. They are an awesome group of people who are truly promoting the paint horse to its fullest. Thank you to all the exhibitors who showed this past week. It was great working with all of you. See you all next year in sunny Scottsdale Arizona!”
The judges for the show were Sandy Curl, Sally Jo Freund, Trisha Shorten Armstrong, Teresa Sullivan, Tom Crowley, Marty Jo Hays, Ann Jones, and Chris Arnold.
“Everyone was thrilled with the great weather, showing outside, and a great schedule allowing for some off time in the afternoons for a couple of the days,” says trainer, Blake Carney of Georgia. “The costume showmanship was a huge hit bringing laughs and a huge crowd on the lunch break. This circuit came back refreshed from a few years off and started 2014 off right, I’ve never seen so many people wanting to stay at a horse show.”
