GoHorseShow reports that amateur competitor Jason Wanderer of Los Angeles, California has purchased 2013 AQHYA World Champion Zippos Petite Prince (Winston). Last year, the 2000 sorrel gelding by Petite Lord was the AQHYA World Champion in the Western Riding with an impressive score of a 236.
“I am grateful to have the opportunity to own such a talented horse,” says Wanderer, who will be making his debut with Winston at the Sun Circuit. “I am truly thankful that owner Carol Thomsen is entrusting me with a horse that she loves so much. I would also like to thank Nancy Renfro for putting this team together and Leslie Lange for encouraging me to keep him in a program where he has been repeatedly successful.”
Winston has amassed nearly 1200 points in seven different events including his specialties, trail and western riding. Some of his outstanding wins and placings include: 2013 World Champion Youth Western Riding, 2013 7th Open World Show Western Riding, 2012 Reserve World Champion Youth Horsemanship, 2011 4th Youth World Show Western Riding, 2010 3rd Youth World Show Western Riding, 2009 4th Amateur World Show Western Riding, and 2008 3rd Amateur World Show Western Riding.
“I’m very excited for Jason and Zippos Petite Prince in their new journey together,” says Winston’s trainer, Nancy Renfro. “He has been a great horse for Shannon Brown, Kirsten Thomsen, and Mary Brown. He has won world show trophies for all three, and I am hoping to continue the tradition with this new team!”
Wanderer will continue to show Hezan Investment (Beau) and now Zippos Petite Prince in the Amateur Trail and Western Riding under the supervision of AQHA Professional Horseman Nancy Ann Alto-Renfro of Finley, California.
