Congratulations to Jeff Burley and Nick Suft of Peak
Performance Horses on the purchase of Double Up Investment (Simon). The
AQHA/APHA double registered stallion is by Artful Investment and out of A New
Chute. As a three year-old, he was the 2004 APHA Reserve World Champion in the
Hunter Under Saddle Challenge with Vicky Holt in the irons.
“It’s great to see Double Up Investment go to another
good home,” says Charlie Cole of Highpoint Performance Horses, who was
involved with showing and training him during part of his show career. “He
was an incredibly versatile and talented young horse with a great mind. We wish
Jeff and Nick the best of luck.”
At the end of March, Burley said that he found out that
Double Up Investment was for sale. “After several days of discussing the
possibility of buying Simon with my partner, Nick, we decided it would be a
good purchase for the two of us,” Burley states. “Not just for our
own personal horse, but Nick has always wanted to own and stand a stud. He also
thought it would be a good attribute to my new business, Peak Performances
Horses, where I have not only quarter horses but paints.”
Simon is a multiple Congress Champion, APHA World Champion,
NSBA World Champion and AQHA Reserve World Champion producer. From his first foal
crop, he sired, Livin In The Big Time, APHA Reserve World Champion and AQHA
Reserve Congress Champion. Some of his other successful babies include: Its
Been A While–multiple Congress Champion and NSBA World Champion and AQHA
Reserve World Champion Junior Hunter Under Saddle. Im Seeing Double–Third in
the Two Year-Old Hunter Under Saddle at the 2013 APHA World Show and also
Double The Sensation who is an APHA Reserve World Champion.
“When I worked at Highpoint Performance Horses and
handled Simon, he was always just so good minded it didn’t matter if it was
breeding season or not,” Burley recalls. “I have found after having
several of his babies that he is passing this same temperament on and making
all of them very trainable and great show horses. An advantage to breeding to
him is it doesn’t matter if you have a quarter horse or thoroughbred, you will
have a horse that is eligible for AQHA and APHA classes.”
Simon will stand the rest of the 2014 breeding season at
Royal Vista in Fort Collins, Colorado for a $500 stud fee plus shipping. Call
