Milan Quarter Horses located in Athens, Texas, already has an impressive broodmare band, but with the addition of four-time AQHA World Champion Miss Miraculous, Scott Trahan is building up his quality of mares to rival all the top halter breeders in the country. The 2006 bay mare is by JMK Supernatural and out of Kids Sweet Rose. Scott Trahan purchased the mare from Gayle Hamlin-Steidel of Couer D Alene, Idaho.
“Owner, Gayle Hamlin-Steidel, who had her is a great person who loves her horses,” Trahan says. “What is so amazing about this mare is she is HYPP N/N and carries a ton of body which allowed her to compete with any class of great horses. Simply stating, Miss Miraculous is one of the best N/N mares ever.”
The outstanding mare swept the 2009 AQHA World Shows including being the AQHYA Youth World Champion, AQHA Open and Amateur World Champion in the Three Year-old Mares. “Missy” is in the AQHA Hall of Fame Museum for winning all three classes that year. She was also the 2010 AQHYA Reserve World Champion Aged Mare, and 2011 AQHYA Youth World Champion Aged Mare.
The mare was originally bred by Clayton Robin of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and was purchased by Chris Arentsen as a two year old. Shortly after, Gayle purchased the mare and sent her to Steve Ferguson for training. Under Ferguson, Gayle and her granddaughter racked up five titles (4 World and 1 Reserve). Arentsen, who is very familiar with the mare, stands two studs for Milan, Very Cool and Attencion.
“Now that the mare’s show career is over, Gayle was simply not comfortable being a breeder,” Trahan states. “Gayle has always admired Milan’s breeding program. She gave Kelly and I the opportunity to own this great mare with all intentions to breed her to our World Champion halter stallion, Attencion. We look forward to babies from this future breeding.”
