This past weekend, Mallory Beinborn of Impulse Photography had the privilege of shooting the wedding of John Woodard and Annelise Kimmel held in Covington, Ohio. Annelise is well known for showing top horses such as Radical Rumors, I Like It In The Dark, as well as owning the furniture stores, Wild West Furniture and Carolina Moon. The groom, John Woodard, is the son of Jenny Honey, who is married to trainer Jeff Honey of Arkansas. John’s father, Preston Woodard, was present as well.
The couple had a dream wedding.
“I had many people ask me, so what did you like most about your wedding? I simply replied it was everything I could have imagined,” Kimmel told GohorseShow following the wedding. “I had my family, my friends, my horses, and best of all my now amazing husband John Woodard along my side. Better yet, God blessed us with a beautiful day. I am so happy to say that I now belong to two amazing families that I am so excited to start this journey. I can’t thank my family enough for what they have done.”
Beinborn said it was a gorgeous wedding held at Annelise’s Aunt Alicia and Uncle Rusty Kimmel’s Ranch. “There was great weather and not a bug in sight combined with a lot of great light to get amazing shots,” Mallory says. “The best part was when Annelise’s father led their stallion, Best In The Dark (Fonzi) to the wedding ceremony with Annelise in her beautiful wedding dress riding side saddle. Her father helped her down and then they walked down the aisle together. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place when she rode in on her horse,” Beinborn recalls.
According to Beinborn, Annelise likes the shabby chic style and Mallory took some amazing pictures of the couple on a heirloom couch and several other antique furniture pieces as well as a classic photo featuring Annelise in Old Gringo boots in an old antique Ford truck. The family and friends in attendance sat on hay bales covered in burlap and feasted on Maggianos italian food and a margarita fountain. The couple’s first dance was outside in the grass with the sunset going down. There was also a large bonfire that set the mood for the night.
“I had many ask, so where did you find all of this fun old stuff? You must have been busy…I replied..it was simple and fun,” says Annelise, about all the unique furniture and items she was photographed with. “We scavenged through my Grandpa Kimmel’s old barn down the road and we had my Grandpa Cullars’ old dresser. I wore my Grandma Ann’s garter and had her sofa. I saved the old windows from our barn and my grandma’s old turquoise mason jars that she and my Great Grandma used for years. Also, my Uncle Ryan’s old turquoise Ford truck was everyone’s favorite.”
Kimmel adds, “I had many items there that were close to my heart, including Best In The Dark (Fonzi) to carry me to the aisle with my Dad along my side. As Dad said, we went out with a bang with the best fireworks I’ve ever seen!”
