The Level 1 (Novice) East Championship is currently underway in Murfreesboro, Tennessee at the Tennessee Miller Coliseum. According to Leman Wall of AQHA, this is the biggest Novice East Championship Show ever with over 900 stalls reserved and 1000 more entries than last year. The show featured jumping, reining, hunter under saddle and equitation classes on Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday will be trail, western riding and ranch horse pleasure. The judges for the East Championship include Charlene Carter, Casey and April Devitt, Michelle Tidwell, and Robin and Mike Jung. AQHA’s Patti Carter is at the show helping it run smoothly while Alex Ross is supervising the judges.
The weather has cooperated so far with it being a little chilly in the mornings and warming up to be quite toasty during the day. GoHorseShow visited with many exhibitors and trainers on Wednesday including Jim and Linda Becker, Steve and Becky Meadows, Shawn Hays, Jamie Higgins, Vicky Holt, Troy Compton, Manita McCool, Liz Flohr, Karen Mundy–among others. We will be in Murfreesboro for the remainder of the show and hope to visit with many more! Steve Meadows taught the Ride the Pattern: Ranch Pleasure clinic Wednesday as well as Tommy Sheets gave the Ride the Pattern: Trail clinic this evening.
